Pair the stripes with quiet pieces
A white long-sleeved blouse and grey high-rise pinstriped trousers create a restrained office base. The stripes already supply a fine pattern. Assess the blouse beside the grey in daylight and decide whether you prefer clear white or a softer shade. Tucking it in reveals the higher waistband. A black belt can emphasise it but is optional if the trousers stay in place. Treat stripes as a design choice rather than an instruction for how a body shape should appear. Fit remains a separate practical question that deserves its own check.
Test waistband and blouse at a table
Sit at a table and reach forward. The higher waistband should remain comfortable, and the blouse needs some movement allowance above it. Spread tucked fabric around the waist instead of gathering it all at the front. Test the belt buckle and trouser fastening together. Change the setting or choose another style if several edges press. Check the cuffs while writing too. An organised combination does not require a particularly stiff posture. It should allow the positions you regularly use during the actual working day.
Place brown shoes beside it deliberately
Tan loafers do not need to match the black belt. The warmer shoe colour can be a chosen difference within the quiet palette. Try the trousers with that exact pair and the intended socks so the hem does not catch on the shoe. Add a document bag according to the size you need. It can be black, brown or another quiet shade. When adding a jacket, test it over the blouse sleeves. This keeps the base clear without requiring every fastening and leather detail to be matched exactly.
