Keep the contrast simple
A black sleeveless cropped top and pale short skirt form two clearly separated areas. Black ankle boots can repeat the upper colour. First decide whether you enjoy that strong contrast before adding more shades. A simple bag in one of the existing colours is enough as a starting point. Jewellery can join the outfit but does not need to create a supposedly missing centre of attention.
Check the two short hems together
The top and skirt may feel comfortable individually yet sit differently together in movement. Raise your arms, sit and reach forward. Decide how much space you want between the top hem and waistband. A longer top or longer skirt are equally valid versions, and the colour contrast remains. The outfit should not require constant control of your posture merely to preserve a particular level of coverage.
Test the waistband and pale material
With a light skirt, assess opacity using the intended underwear. Also notice pockets and fastenings that could press while seated. A smooth fall does not require a particularly tight fit. Walk several steps and see whether the hem moves comfortably. If a skirt keeps riding up, another size or cut is more useful than repeatedly pulling it down. Include your normal sitting position in the decision.
Organise the route with boots
Test the shaft edge and socks with the black boots before planning a longer walk. A suitable outer layer can join the outfit for cooler or windy periods. Check that its length stays comfortable while seated. A bag with a reliable closure leaves your hands free outdoors. Keep additions quiet at first, making it easy to decide later whether you want a colour accent or prefer the existing light and dark areas.
